This section begins the history of my Brietzke family. I am unable to go back any further or make a accurate connection with other Brietzke families in the US or in Germany. 

There are various spellings for the Brietzke name (including Bretzke, Britzke, Breitzke) and some of these could be misspellings as well as one family trying to distinguish themselves from another family line. In the Guadalupe County area we have several spellings and it would be too much of a coincidence for these families to not be related somehow.
